J. Edward Rosenthal, MD, FACC attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated summa cum laude from UT Southwestern Medical School in 1967. He trained in internal medicine at Parkland Hospital and completed a cardiology fellowship at Yale Medical School. From 1972-1973 he was the Assistant Director of Clinical Cardiology at Mt. Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, Calif. He has been in practice in Dallas since 1973, where he was the Associate Chief, Cardiology Section, at Presbyterian Hospital before moving to Medical City Dallas in 1976. He is currently a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association, Dr. Rosenthal has also served as President of the American Heart Association Dallas Affiliate, as well as Chairman of Medicine and Cardiology at Medical City Hospital. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He has been named as one of the best doctors in Dallas by D Magazine and a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly, as well as being selected to the Best Doctors in America list. Dr. Rosenthal's main interests are general cardiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure and transplantation, pacemakers, and defibrillators. In the past he has presented papers at national and international cardiology meetings and has published in peer review journals. Married for 46 years, Dr. Rosenthal and his wife have two children and four grandchildren. Outside of medicine, his interests are hunting, fly fishing, photography, cooking and travel. He is an avid snow skier.
